I'm checking in.

The day started off great. We had our 24 week high resolution scan. The girls look great measuring 24w2d and 24w3d. They have been one day apart since 8 weeks. Our perinate called over to the hospital and reminded them that I would be admitted today. We took our 3 year old out to lunch and headed over to the hospital...that’s where it all went downhill. I go to check in and the registrar has no idea why I am there (even though I have explained it thoroughly 3 times). He puts me in the computer as "preterm labor". This of course sends the doctors and nurses in to a panic thinking momo twins are arriving...oh and did I mention the NICU is completely full. The charge nurse rushes me into a labor room to “stabilize” me while the dr. calls around for a place to transport me. I am frantically trying to explain and have them call my specialist but she was at another hospital covering an emergency. Finally after crying and yelling at the charge nurse demanding to see the on-call dr. I got my point across. The on-call dr, with NO EXPERIENCE with momos decides that she wants me on 24/7 continuous monitoring even though I asked her to check my specialist's notes and follow her NSTs 3 times a day plan. 24/7 monitoring at 24 weeks was awful and next to impossible...at least for me. Those poor nurses literally stood there their ENTIRE shift chasing the babies. My stomach is so raw and sore after 20 hours of this. Thank God my specialist came in this morning, apologized and had me moved to an antepardum room and we are back on her original plan. Wish me luck. Hopefully things can only go more smoothly from here right.
