Seeing Kennedy's entire face for the first time in her life brought me to tears. I am sure this is something only a NICU parent will truly understand...seeing your baby with no tubes or wires...no distractions to the eye...it's simply amazing! It reinforces the fact that they are real babies and helps to get rid of that "are they ever coming home?" feeling. Kennedy got her feeding tube out today. She has been nippling (bottle feeding) all of her feedings for the last 36ish hours and is showing that she can gain weight so the doctor made the decision that it is time to take out the tube and see what she does. We are praying she can keep this up. What a big girl!
